To enhance the quality of scientific research activities, promote scholarly publications, and expand domestic and international research collaboration, Van Lang University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Head of the Scientific Research Development Office.

This role supports the Head of Office in strategic advisory functions, professional coordination, and the development of the University’s scientific research ecosystem.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise and assist the Head of Office in developing and implementing strategies and plans for scientific research development in alignment with the University’s overall orientation.
  • Manage, coordinate, and oversee scientific research activities, including domestic and international scholarly publications, monographs, and participation in academic conferences and seminars.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of research capacity assessment frameworks for Faculties/Institutes and individual lecturers and researchers.
  • Review, propose, and organize the implementation of regulations and procedures related to academic integrity, research ethics, and scholarly publishing standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand research networks; promote partnerships and collaboration with universities, research institutes, and scientific organizations domestically and internationally.
  • Foster collaborative research activities, co-authorship, international publications, and participation in joint research programs and projects.
  • Provide professional support and consultation to Faculties/Units in the development, implementation, evaluation, and acceptance of research projects and grants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Office and the University.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a PhD in Education, Law, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 05 years of experience working in higher education institutions; candidates with prior management roles or equivalent positions in scientific research administration are preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of university-level scientific research activities, including scholarly publishing, research project/grant management, research capacity assessment at both unit and individual levels, and academic integrity.
  • Demonstrated academic strengths and established research networks; strong ability to initiate and sustain collaboration with universities, research institutes, and scientific organizations domestically and internationally.
  • Proficient in English for research and academic communication; international study, training, or work experience is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, facilitation, and work management skills; systems thinking with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
