Van Lang University Honored Among the World’s Top 1001-1200 Universities in 2026, Top 392 globally for Academic Reputation

Following an impressive rise to the global Top 601-800 in the THE Impact Rankings 2025, Van Lang University received yet another remarkable recognition just one day later - on June 19, 2025 - when the QS World University Rankings 2026 officially named the institution among the world’s Top 1001-1200 universities for the first time.

After assessing and surveying 8,467 institutions across 106 countries, the QS World University Rankings 2026 evaluated and ranked 1,501 universities worldwide. Among them, 10 institutions from Vietnam made it to the global rankings. Van Lang University made a debut in the QS World University Rankings, entering the Top 1001-1200 - a milestone that reflects years of dedicated effort in building reputation, strengthening research and innovation capacity, and maintaining a steadfast commitment to educational quality.

The QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) is one of the three most prestigious global university rankings, released annually by Quacquarelli Symonds (UK). The ranking is based on strict criteria, including academic reputation, employer reputation, Faculty-Student ratio, research citations, and International Faculty-Student Ratios. Being listed in the QS WUR serves as strong evidence of a university’s holistic development and the effectiveness of our internationalization strategy.

Academic Reputation stands out as the strongest indicator for Van Lang University in the QS World University Rankings, and also one of the most critical indicators in the QS evaluation framework - accounting for 30% of the overall score. This indicator is based on global surveys of academic experts, faculty, and researchers, who assess institutions based on the quality of their teaching, research, and influence. With a global ranking of 392 in this category, Van Lang University demonstrates a growing recognition and credibility within the international  academic community.

Employer Reputation (ER) measures how universities and their academic programs are perceived by employers. As the only major global ranking system to focus on this aspect, QS allocates 15% of its total evaluation to ER, based on survey responses from employers around the world gathered through QS’s global survey system. Van Lang University’s placement in the Top 701+ global for this indicator is a promising sign, reflecting the institution’s consistent efforts to strengthen business connections, innovate our curriculum toward real-world application, and enhance essential skills and knowledge for students’ employment, all of which are gradually being recognized on the international stage.

Before earning a place among the world’s Top 1001-1200 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2026, Van Lang University had been ranked among the Top 500 universities in Asia (QS Asia University Rankings 2025) and recognized for our academic quality by reputable international accreditation organizations, including the FIBAA Quality Seal (2025) and a 4-star QS Stars rating (2021). At the program level, VLU made a global impression, with Performing Arts ranked in the Top 51-100 and Art & Design in the Top 101-150 worldwide (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025).
