In 2025, Microsoft announced more than 900 Showcase Schools and 43,000 Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (MIEE) worldwide. Among them, Vietnam has 28 recognized schools and over 2,500 innovative educators. Van Lang University is honored to be the first and only university in Vietnam recognized by Microsoft as a Showcase School this year.
Each year, Microsoft honors outstanding schools and educators globally through two titles: Microsoft Showcase School (SCS) and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE). These distinctions celebrate the continuous efforts of educational institutions and teachers worldwide in embracing innovation to enhance learning quality for future generations.
On September 24, 2025, Microsoft officially announced the list of over 900 Showcase Schools (from 130 countries) and 43,400 MIE Experts for the academic year 2025 - 2026. In Vietnam, there are 28 Showcase Schools and 2,553 MIE Experts - an increase of nearly 200% compared to the previous academic year - demonstrating the rapid and effective digital transformation of Vietnam’s education system.

The Microsoft Showcase School title is awarded to pioneering educational institutions worldwide that lead in innovation and digital transformation by effectively integrating Microsoft technologies and solutions into teaching, learning, and management. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) title recognizes educators who creatively apply technology in teaching, fostering a culture of innovation and digital competency across the global education community.

For the academic year 2025–2026, Van Lang University proudly has 82 faculty members recognized by Microsoft as Global Innovative Educator Experts, placing the University among Vietnam’s most active and dynamic higher education institutions in digital teaching innovation. This achievement continues the remarkable efforts of Van Lang University’s teaching community in recent years. Since 2023, 188 lecturers have successfully earned the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) international credential. To date, 1,858 staff and lecturers have participated in Microsoft training programs (MIE, MCE, MIEE, Power BI, Excel Mastery). In addition, the University has launched a digital skills learning program on Coursera, engaging 1,170 lecturers with over 5,000 enrollments, contributing to the development of a digitally competent faculty capable of applying data and technology in teaching.

Microsoft’s global recognition affirms Van Lang University’s academic standing and commitment to higher education digital transformation, laying the foundation for a modern, technology-integrated, data-driven, and AI-enhanced learning environment. Today, VLU students across all majors are offered signature courses designed to strengthen global adaptability and address the shared challenges of humankind such as Global Citizenship Skills, Design Thinking and Innovation, Critical Thinking, Sustainable Development, and digital literacy courses like AI for everyone, Data Analysis, Big Data, and Machine Learning.

On October 25, 2025, Microsoft Showcase Schools will be honored at the “Vietnam Education Innovation Recognition Ceremony 2025 – 2026”, co-organized by Microsoft, InterEdu Education Organization, and Van Lang University. This annual event, held since 2021, celebrates pioneering schools and educators who embrace technology in teaching, learning, and management - advancing digital transformation and improving the quality of education in Vietnam. It also offers an interactive space to experience educational technologies from leading enterprises and organizations in the field, while creating opportunities for educators, administrators, experts, and sector leaders to exchange knowledge and share experiences through thematic seminars.
