Marking our 30th anniversary, Van Lang University proudly celebrates a significant milestone: notable advancements in prestigious international university rankings. The institution rose to the Top 601–800 globally in the THE Impact Rankings 2025, made a debut in the QS World University Rankings 2026 in the Top 1001–1200, and secured a remarkable 392nd place worldwide in Academic Reputation - all testament to our enduring pursuit of educational excellence. As of now, Van Lang University has 23 academic programs accredited nationally and 6 programs certified under the AUN-QA international quality framework.
Continuing the strong commitment to accreditation and quality assurance, on the morning of June 27, 2025, Van Lang University held the opening ceremony for the official external evaluation of five undergraduate programs: Industrial Design, Vocal Performance, Restaurant and Food Service Management, Pharmacy and Chinese Language. The external evaluation team from the Center for Education Accreditation - University of Danang consists of 11 experts, led by Prof. Dr. Sci. Bui Van Ga.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Sci. Bui Van Ga, Head of the External Evaluation Team, emphasized that quality accreditation of academic programs goes beyond simply meeting criteria - it also serves as an opportunity for expert consultants to provide valuable recommendations to help the university continuously improve its programs and enhance overall training quality. Following the preliminary survey on June 18, 2025, he highly appreciated Van Lang University’s academic quality and its flexible programs tailored to societal needs. In addition to strong student recruitment efforts, the University has clearly identified program quality as a central pillar. The supporting documents and self-assessment reports for the five evaluated programs were carefully prepared, comprehensive, and digitized, facilitating a smooth review process for the evaluation team.
Representing the university’s leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu - President of Van Lang University - presented an overview of the institution’s development from 2020 to 2025. In recent years, Van Lang has expanded to offer over 60 undergraduate programs, 17 graduate programs, and more than 30 international programs. Regarding the five academic programs undergoing evaluation in this round, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu highlighted several key strengths: the programs’ objectives and learning outcomes are aligned with stakeholder expectations, curricula are logically structured and benchmarked against national and international standards, diverse assessment methods are applied, suited to the nature of each discipline, learning outcomes are systematically measured, and training and professional development activities are effectively implemented to meet the demands for capacity building and specialization.
The official on-site assessment is scheduled to take place over four days, from June 27 to June 30, 2025. Following the opening session, the External Evaluation Team will carry out a series of activities including: reviewing self-assessment reports and supporting documents for each program; interviewing the program self-assessment councils and heads of departments; conducting interviews with faculty, staff, and lecturers involved in the evaluated programs; meeting with students and alumni; and inspecting facilities and equipment used in undergraduate training.
The Industrial Design major at Van Lang University has been offered since 2005, as part of the Art & Design area - an area ranked among the Top 101–150 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. In 2025, Van Lang University launched its first 2+2 international training program in Industrial Design in collaboration with Ming Chi University of Technology, a member of Taiwan’s largest industrial conglomerate, Formosa. Upon graduation, students receive bachelor’s degrees from both institutions. Pharmacy is part of the Health Sciences cluster and has been offered at Van Lang University since 2018, with two specialization paths: Pharmaceutical Management & Supply and Clinical Pharmacy. The training program equips students with medical and pharmaceutical knowledge along with professional skills to ensure safe medication use, drug production, quality control, management, and supply. In addition, students are trained to engage in scientific research and lifelong learning to enhance their professional capacity, contributing to community healthcare and well-being. The Vocal Performance major has been offered at Van Lang University since 2018, aiming to train versatile artists with strong creativity and adaptability, balancing both academic and applied approaches. The curriculum is designed in response to the practical demands of the music industry, equipping students with the essential knowledge and skills to become professional singers, songwriters, educators, or music producers. Notably, the program is a pioneer in applying AI technology to vocal training - especially in modules focused on vocal exercises, performance technique analysis, and personal style development. The Restaurant and Food Service Management major, part of the Tourism field, has been offered at Van Lang University since 2020. It is designed to train a new generation of professional managers. Students learn in a world-class, specialized training environment that meets international standards - with dedicated practice rooms and a fully equipped, on-campus simulation bar. The program also provides hands-on experience in operations, service, and management, mirroring real-world working environments The Chinese Language major at Van Lang University has been offered since 2020, with two specialized tracks: Chinese Translation - Interpretation and Business Chinese. The program equips students with advanced proficiency in Chinese for use across various fields such as administration, commerce, translation, tourism, culture, academia, and diplomacy. Learners are provided with in-depth professional knowledge and are trained to work independently, think critically, and assess specialized issues effectively. |
