On November 29, 2022, Van Lang University's Trade Union was awarded the emulation flag by the Ho Chi Minh Labor Confederation for their exceptional performance in completing the 2021-2022 academic year's tasks. Additionally, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy (MSc.), the president of Van Lang University's Trade Union, received an individual award.
A conference was held by the City Federation of Labor in Ho Chi Minh City on November 29, 2022, to review trade union activities for the 2021-2022 academic year for universities and colleges under the City Labor Confederation. During the conference, 19 groups and 21 individuals were awarded by the City Labor Federation for their successful completion of tasks during the academic year.
The conference summarized and evaluated the results of the union activities undertaken by units of universities and colleges during the 2020-2021 academic year. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Party Committees and Trade Unions of universities and colleges have been working hard to return to a 'new normal.' They have successfully integrated into the new way of life and organized various activities to support the members' lives within the units. Additionally, they have completed political tasks and trade union work proposed during the school year. The conference also highlighted a number of outstanding achievements of the Trade Unions, creativity, and innovation in the emulation work of the schools and discussed development directions, reaching a consensus to sign an emulation contract for the upcoming academic year.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy (MSc.), the President of Van Lang University's Trade Union, was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the good labor emulation movement and for leading a strong Trade Union organization during the 2021-2022 school year. She was honored with a certificate of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Additionally, the Trade Union at Van Lang University was awarded the emulation flag from the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation for their exceptional performance in completing the tasks for the same period.
During the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam (MSc.), the Vice Chairman of Van Lang University's Trade Union, presented a summary of the achievements of Emulation Block 5's Trade Union activities. Additionally, he signed an emulation contract with other grassroots trade unions on behalf of the Executive Committee of the University's Trade Union. In the upcoming academic year of 2022-2023, Van Lang University's Trade Union will lead Emulation Block 5 and organize numerous activities to connect officials, lecturers, school staff, and employees, while creating value for society and the community.
