Workshop “The One Path”: Guiding Logistics and Supply Chain Management Students on Defining Their Specialization Pathways

On January 13, 2026, to support Class 31 students majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in choosing their specializations, the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Management at Van Lang University organized the workshop “The One Path - Discover Your Unique Career Path.”

Speaking at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh–Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Management and Head of the Department of Logistics Engineering–emphasized the importance of having a clear career orientation for each student. According to him, on the journey toward success, individuals need to proactively reflect on their goals and choose pathways aligned with their abilities and interests. For Logistics and Supply Chain Management students approaching a critical stage in selecting a specialization for the coming years, self-positioning becomes all the more essential.

The keynote speaker of the workshop was Ms. Le Quang Thu Ngoc, Head of the Department of Human Resources and Administration at Van Lang University, who shared valuable practical insights drawn from her professional experience in human resources. In addition to highlighting the importance of self-understanding and clear direction for development, Ms. Ngoc noted that a strong academic foundation enables students to seize future opportunities. She also proposed practical strategies to help students build suitable career pathways, emphasizing the role of soft skills such as foreign language proficiency, adaptability, and critical thinking in an ever-evolving work environment.

In the following session, Mr. Nguyen Viet Tinh, Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Supply Chain Management Department, analyzed the advantages and distinctive features of the management-oriented and engineering-oriented tracks, the two specializations that Class 31 students will soon choose. Through his insights, students gained a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of each specialization, enabling them to identify the academic path aligned with their strengths and career goals.

During the Q&A session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Mr. Nguyen Viet Tinh, and Ms. Le Quang Thu Ngoc directly addressed students’ questions, helping them overcome uncertainties and misconceptions about the field. Through discussions on topics such as employment opportunities, balancing academic knowledge with professional skills, and the pressure to choose between two specializations, the speakers offered valuable and practical advice. As a result, students not only found greater clarity in their personal orientation but also gained more confidence in making decisions about their future.

The workshop “The One Path - Discover Your Unique Career Path” concluded not only with valuable disciplinary insights but also with a strong sense of inspiration for students’ self-discovery journeys. Through the workshop, Class 31 students of Logistics and Supply Chain Management were equipped with essential foundational knowledge, empowering them to take initiative and gradually shape a career path that truly aligns with their strengths and aspirations.
