In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Vo Nguyen Quoc Bao, Vice President of Van Lang University and President of Van Lang Institute of Technology (VLTECH), emphasized the recent rapid developments in the industry: “The current trend in the automotive sector is automation. Cars are becoming smarter and increasingly supportive of human needs. This development will directly impact your future career. To secure suitable jobs, you must equip yourselves with the knowledge and skills that meet the demands of businesses, society, and the global market.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Huu Son, Dean of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, also pointed out the challenges of the automotive industry: “You are pursuing a highly practical field. However, this industry requires constant updates with the latest technologies. A car model today must not only be modern but also meet high aesthetic standards. This means you must continuously improve yourselves and stay updated on the latest industry trends.”

In a more technical session, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh, Director of the AUTOSAR unit at FPT Hanoi, introduced AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture), an international software standard currently adopted by major automobile manufacturers to ensure compatibility, safety, and operational efficiency in modern automotive systems. In Vietnam, the demand for automotive software development is rapidly increasing, requiring engineers to possess in-depth knowledge and relevant skills. Therefore, students are encouraged to stay updated with new technologies, master programming skills, understand electrical-electronic systems, and develop an integrated technology mindset to meet real-world business needs.

Following the theoretical sessions, students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on experience with the SOVD KIT, an AI-based automotive testing tool, under the direct guidance of experts from FPT Automotive. This activity allowed students to familiarize themselves with advanced technologies and broaden their perspective on becoming automotive software engineers, a field with a growing demand for high-quality human resources.
