On September 22, 2025, the International Education Institute (IEI) at Van Lang University held the Opening Ceremony – Welcome Day 2025 – for the freshmen of Class 31. The event marked the beginning of a promising new academic year, with the attendance of the Board of Trustees, representatives from international partner institutions, reputable businesses, as well as a large number of parents and freshmen.

The year 2025 represents a significant milestone, as it celebrates the graduation of the pioneering class of the University’s international joint programs. These students have successfully completed their academic journeys and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Liverpool John Moores University (United Kingdom) and The University of Newcastle (Australia). This achievement affirms the University’s strategic direction towards international integration and serves as an inspiration for the incoming students of Class 31 to confidently embark on their own journeys.

In her address to IEI Class 31, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, conveyed a meaningful message: Education is not merely about obtaining a degree, but rather a profound journey that empowers learners to develop themselves and make positive contributions to society. Her sharing reflects the University’s educational vision, which emphasizes the holistic development of students and their sense of social responsibility.

It is also a valuable opportunity for students to develop soft skills and accumulate real-world experiences, empowering them to become “ambassadors” of both Edge Hill University and Van Lang University in the global area.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the segment titled “Scholarship and Award Recognition for Academic Year 2024 – 2025”, which acknowledged the efforts of new students across four categories: Bachelor Program Scholarship, Academic Scholarship, English Scholarship, and the Ambassador Award. These scholarships not only provide financial support but also foster a spirit of academic excellence, reflecting the university’s commitment to nurturing talent and preparing a globally competent workforce.
