To promote youth leadership, share love, and spread humanitarian values during the Lunar New Year of the Snake, the Vietnam National Union of Students of Van Lang University held the Kick-Off Ceremony of the 2025 Spring Volunteer Campaign on December 21, 2024.
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, and the 30th anniversary of VLU, this year’s Spring Volunteer Campaign is a major milestone. It provides a meaningful platform for VLU students to grow and serve the community. The campaign aims to foster volunteerism, connections, and promote social responsibility during the festive season.

Dr. Vo Van Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Standing Vice President of Van Lang University - shared: “The Spring Volunteer Campaign is an annual event that takes place as Tet - Lunar New Year approaches. It connects volunteers with those in need and brings them a warmer, happier Tet holiday. With well-prepared plans and large-scale student participation, we aim to expand meaningful community activities such as tree planting for a greener Tet, free health checkups, gift-giving for underprivileged families, and so on.”

This year’s campaign has attracted nearly 1,500 students, organized into six volunteer teams: Historical Spring, Proud Spring, Loving Spring, Soldier’s Spring, Healthy Spring, and Spreading Spring. During the Kick-Off Ceremony, the Campaign’s leadership team held a flag relay and scarf-giving ritual, marking the start of a new volunteer season. The first activity - The Historical Journey - took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum and Bach Tung Diep Park.

On the morning of December 22, 2024, VLU student volunteers, representing 70,000 volunteers in this year’s campaign, joined the City-Level Kick-Off Ceremony of the 2025 Spring Volunteer Campaign. The event was hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the Vietnam National Union of Students at the HCMC branch of the National Academy of Public Administration.

With youthful energy and heartfelt enthusiasm, VLU volunteers are committed to making a meaningful impact, spreading positive values to the community as Tet draws near.
