VLU signed MOU with Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport

On August 14 2023, Van Lang University (VLU) welcomed a delegation from the branch of Cong Hoa Trading Investment Joint Stock Company - Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport, to discuss and sign an MOU between both parties.

The cooperation between VLU and Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport, the branch of Cong Hoa Trading Investment Joint Stock Company, aims to strengthen business connections and provide job opportunities for the VLU’s Faculty of Tourism students at renowned hotels and restaurants.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, VLU’s President, shared that the school always guides students towards practical experiences through programs with businesses, creating opportunities for learning, internships and jobs in the right major for learners. Cooperating with renowned restaurants and hotels improves students’ knowledge and skills, while strengthening VLU's long-standing reputation in tourism education, and alongside businesses, addresses the field and society’s demand for highly skilled personnel.

The partner representative, Ms. Michelle Singson - General Manager, expressed her positive impression of Van Lang. The university not only invests in modern facilities but also focuses on diverse and specialized curriculum. According to her, Van Lang University's strength lies in offering students a wide range of experiences from their very first year, enhancing their knowledge and practical skills, thereby making them more competitive in today's job market. Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport could potentially partner with the university to provide valuable real-world experiences for students.

Mrs. Phan Thi Ngoc Bich, Director of Human Resource of the hotel, shared about the internship recruitment criteria of Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport, and current high-end hotels. In addition to academic knowledge, students need to enhance their soft skills, especially communication skills. In terms of social globalization, foreign languages proficiency is also seen as essential for enhancing job performance and increasing job opportunities for students as they embark on their careers.
