On July 26 & 27, 2024, Van Lang University Faculty of Law organized the donation of a water filtration system and held legal education sessions in Hoa Thanh commune, Ca Mau City, Ca Mau province. The program was carried out at the request of the People's Committee of Hoa Thanh commune.
With the aim of providing local residents with clean water for daily use, on July 26, 2024, a team of officials, lecturers, and students from Van Lang University Faculty of Law visited Bung Binh hamlet in Hoa Thanh commune to donate a water drilling and filtration system. This system supplies 10,000 liters of clean water per day, helping solve the shortage of clean water, especially during dry seasons. The team also donated 350 empty 20-liter water bottles to residents who collect water directly from the system. This gift was an effort from the VLU Faculty of Law’s officials, lecturers, staff and students. The donation was met with excitement and gratitude from the local community.
On the afternoon of July 27, 2024, the team visited the People's Committee of Hoa Thanh commune to conduct a legal education session. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Quyen, M.A., Lawyer, introduced the local youth union members to children’s rights laws, reaching nearly 60 attendees. During the event, Law students had the chance to practice their legal communication skills, sharing valuable knowledge with the community. Through these interactions, the youth union members gained new insights and a better understanding of the law.
This mission brought practical benefits, supporting the local government in improving the quality of life for residents and promoting a law-abiding society through legal education efforts. It also helped spread the reputation of the Faculty of Law and Van Lang University within the community.
