VLU Labor Conference 2023 - 2024

On December 17, 2023, The Van Lang University Trade Union organized the yearly Labor Conference for the academic year 2023-2024, gathering VLU’s Boards and representatives for lecturers and staff to discuss and review the achievements of the 2022-2023 academic year, set directions, and outline tasks for the upcoming academic year 2023-2024.

Mrs. Bui Thi Van Anh, Chairwoman of VLU Board of Administrators, said, "In this new development phase, Van Lang University is continuously improving teaching quality, expanding its range of courses and scientific research. With a mission of holistic development, the dedicated contributions and support from our lecturers have played a crucial role in improving education management at Van Lang University."

In the report for the academic year 2022-2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, summarized the university’s achievements in six areas and 20 major goals. In 2023, Van Lang University secured its position in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, completed its educational quality accreditation in accordance with FIBAA standards (Switzerland), and conducted evaluations based on sustainable development goals (SDGs).

In the academic year 2023 - 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu emphasized the following key tasks: developing Van Lang University's brand to become an influential university aligned with the SDGs; transforming Van Lang University (aka: Van Lang College) into Van Lang University; transitioning VLU to a Digital University model; and effectively running international programs.

In the report on the implementation of the collective labor agreement for the 2022-2023 academic year, MSc. Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of VLU’s Trade Union, highlighted the University and the Union's creativity and dedication in organizing activities to connect employees and ensure their rights, including: work and rest hours, social insurance, allowance policies, rewards and disciplinary measures, regular health check-ups, and so on.

The 2023-2024 labor conference, marked by a strong sense of unity and agreement among attendees, showcased VLU's active participation in trade union activities over the year, highlighting the collective spirit of all employees in pursuit of the university’s development goals.
