In celebration of Vietnamese Doctors' Day on February 28, 2025, the Faculty of Nursing at Van Lang University held a traditional White Coat Ceremony for Class 30 students and kickstarted the campaign 'Excellence in Care and Patient Safety.'
During the ceremony, People's Physician, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Hong, Senior Advisor to the Faculty of Medicine, highlighted the profound importance of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27): 'Medicine is a sacred vocation. To live up to its purpose, a doctor must excel professionally and exemplify heart, talent, and virtue, echoing President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that "a good doctor is like a compassionate mother." Those who pursue this career must remain dedicated, kind-hearted, and regard patients as their own kin.'
On behalf of the students, Nguyen Ngoc Thanh Mui, a Class 30 Nursing student, expressed deep gratitude to the teachers, doctors, and nurses who have wholeheartedly guided the younger generation: “We understand that the advancement of modern medicine is the result of the silent sacrifices and relentless dedication of countless generations of predecessors. Our respected teachers have instilled passion in us, leading us step by step throughout our education, enabling us to be both professionally competent and profoundly aware of the moral and ethical duties of healthcare practitioners.”
Notably, the ceremony marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of K30 'newcomers' with the White Coat Ceremony. Additionally, the 'Quality of Care and Patient Safety' competition was launched as part of the program, providing nursing students across Classes an opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge and refine their practical skills.
