On July 17, 2025, the 2025 Green Summer Campaign, organised by the Youth Union - Students' Association of Van Lang University (VLU), officially commenced. The campaign fosters the pioneering spirit of VLU students in community engagement, contributing a total of 30,000 volunteer hours towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and marks a significant milestone — the 30th Anniversary of Van Lang University.

As an annual volunteer initiative, the Green Summer Campaign has long been a symbol of youthful dedication, delivering practical values to the community and helping to build a better society. Continuing this meaningful legacy, the Launch Ceremony of the 2025 Green Summer Campaign has been set in motion.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, addressed the volunteers: “I am very proud to see that each year, we accomplish greater and more concrete goals. With more than 1,800 volunteers and the target of 30,000 hours of service, this year’s Green Summer Campaign is not only a journey of devotion but also an opportunity for each individual to grow. Our activities are carefully designed, aligned with eight United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, reflecting your maturity and clear awareness of the value you create. The Green Summer Campaign is a journey to challenge yourselves, cultivate compassion, and create lasting value. Consider this as a precious part of your portfolio, a beautiful hallmark of VLU youth.”

This year’s campaign promises a vibrant season of activities, rich in value and practical contributions, with the participation of over 1,807 student volunteers. The volunteers are organised into five core teams, bringing youthful energy and knowledge to serve the community, under the close guidance of the Standing Command Board.

Blue Shirt Tutor Team: Sharing knowledge with the community through English teaching sessions, English speaking contests, and cultural exchange activities with international students.

Digital Summer Team: Supporting students by identifying safe and reliable rental housing, while also hosting workshops on digital safety skills to help communities navigate the digital era with confidence.

Communication Team: Enhancing communication competencies through specialised workshops and spreading positive messages from the campaign.

Youth Pioneer Team: Demonstrating community spirit through meaningful activities such as voluntary blood donations, cemetery visits, meetings with witnesses to history, and leading waste-sorting initiatives at the source.

Mural Painting Team: Transforming old, deteriorated walls into vibrant works of art, contributing to beautifying the urban landscape.

The 2025 Green Summer Campaign is not only a series of volunteer activities but also a journey of creating sustainable value, raising community awareness, and commemorating the University’s 30th Anniversary. With the dedication of more than 1,800 volunteers, this summer will truly be a season of passion, delivering meaningful results, unforgettable experiences, and valuable contributions to building a better society.
