On March 7, 2025, the leadership of Van Lang University and the Faculty of Finance and Banking welcomed and engaged in discussions with Prof. Christiane Weiland (Head of the Faculty of Banking, Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg - DHBW, Germany) regarding potential collaboration between the two institutions.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Christiane Weiland provided an overview of the English-taught programs at Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg and emphasized the university's commitment to enhancing teaching quality while creating favorable conditions for international students to study in Germany and advance their careers.

On behalf of Van Lang University, Assoc. Prof. Bui Pham Lan Phuong, Vice-President of the University, along with the leadership of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, introduced the university’s and faculty’s strengths in academic training. Van Lang University expressed great interest in student exchange programs, credit transfer opportunities, and joint research collaborations with Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg. Following in-depth discussions, both parties emphasized their shared goal of advancing the internationalization of higher education and committed to further deliberations to establish a sustainable bilateral partnership.

On this occasion, Prof. Christiane Weiland delivered an insightful lecture on the German financial system for faculty members and students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Van Lang University. Her presentation delved into the structure of the German banking system, various forms of financial intermediaries, the integration of the European banking system, as well as trends in digital transformation and artificial intelligence in the modern era. Prof. Weiland highlighted that, to succeed in the banking industry, it is crucial to ensure financial stability through prudent investment and appropriate policy incentives, create added value in intermediary activities, and remain adaptable by integrating advanced technologies.
