On December 12, 2024, the International Education Institute (IEI) of Van Lang University welcomed a delegation from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) – the first public university in the Philippines to achieve the prestigious QS 3-star rating (Quacquarelli Symonds) – for a visit and working session. This visit marked a significant milestone in Van Lang University’s journey toward internationalization, strategic partnership establishment, and the opening of numerous potential collaboration opportunities in the future.

During the visit, representatives from both institutions discussed promising cooperation opportunities such as student exchange programs, the SDG Summer School, and joint research projects. Notably, the discussion emphasized collaboration in food technology, a field of mutual interest and rapid development in both nations.

Dr. Angelina T. Gonzales, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension at DMMMSU, expressed deep admiration for the modern facilities and dynamic learning environment at Van Lang University. She highly commended the university’s educational orientation, which lays a solid foundation for the holistic development of students and the advancement of the food technology sector.

Dr. Nguyen Thai Hoan, a lecturer from the Faculty of Applied Technology at Van Lang University, provided a comprehensive perspective on the university’s academic programs. Through an in-depth analysis of the program’s benefits, he painted a vivid picture of the academic and career opportunities available to students.
Over the years, Van Lang University has continuously enhanced its educational quality and actively expanded its international network. To date, Van Lang University is one of only 11 higher education institutions in Vietnam to have achieved international quality accreditation. In 2024, it became the first private university in Vietnam to receive the European accreditation seal from FIBAA, meeting 100% of the quality criteria, with nearly 50% exceeding the required standards and two criteria rated as outstanding.

The visit from the DMMMSU delegation promises to pave the way for new advances in sustainable strategic partnerships. Both universities committed to continuing detailed discussions to implement potential projects, particularly in the field of food technology, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources and meeting societal needs in an era of global integration.
