On May 13, 2025, Van Lang University welcomed a delegation of faculty and students from Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore) for a campus visit and exchange program. The visit marked another step forward in strengthening academic collaboration and promoting cultural understanding between the two institutions.

Mr. Tran Luu Phuong Nam - MA, Deputy Head of the Department of Partnership and Engagement - delivered the opening speech.

This program was part of Van Lang University’s ongoing international exchange initiatives, aimed at expanding global learning opportunities, fostering intercultural competence, and enriching student experiences. In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Luu Phuong Nam - MA, Deputy Head of the Department of Partnership and Engagement - emphasised that the partnership between Van Lang University and Temasek Polytechnic serves as an essential foundation for cultivating an international student community that is open-minded, well-informed, and globally integrated. He also expressed optimism about the continued development of this meaningful collaboration.

Van Lang students performed “Beo Dat May Troi” and “Phu Nu Viet Nam” to welcome Temasek Polytechnic.

During their visit, the Singaporean students toured Van Lang’s modern campus facilities, including smart lecture halls and multifunctional creative spaces. In particular, international students enjoyed performances of traditional Vietnamese songs “Beo Dat May Troi” and “Phu Nu Viet Nam” by Van Lang students, followed by an interactive workshop on coconut leaf weaving - a signature Vietnamese handicraft.

The highlight of the visit was a workshop titled “FOMO: From Fear to Freedom – Navigating the Pressure to Keep Up”, which explored mental health and the psychological pressures in modern student life. The session created a welcoming space for open dialogue and heartfelt sharing between students from both institutions, promoting greater awareness and empathy around mental well-being in international academic settings.

This event provided a meaningful platform for students from both countries to form cross-cultural connections and learn from each other, while reinforcing Van Lang University's core value in our educational philosophy, placing students at the centre of everything we do.

Temasek Polytechnic was established in 1990 as the third polytechnic in Singapore. Located in the eastern region of the island nation, the school currently has around 15,000 students enrolled across seven academic divisions: the School of Applied Science, School of Business, School of Design, School of Engineering, School of Informatics & IT, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, and the Tourism Academy at Sentosa.
