On the morning of August 10, 2025, at Dam Sen Cultural Park, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), members of the Trade Union, staff and faculty members of Van Lang University (VLU), together with more than 5,000 participants including local residents, students, representatives of government agencies, enterprises, and international friends, joined the 18th Annual Walk themed “For Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.”

The program was organized by the HCMC Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (AO), in collaboration with the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City and Dam Sen Cultural Park. As a meaningful annual activity, the event aimed to raise public awareness about the severe consequences of AO during the war, while calling for the community’s action to support those who are still suffering from its devastating effects. This year’s program also marked the 64th anniversary of the AO Disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2025), spreading the message of compassion, solidarity, and social responsibility in supporting the victims and their families.
Representatives of city leaders and organizations attended the event, including Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Former President of Vietnam, Ms. Truong My Hoa, Former Vice President of Vietnam, and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, along with many delegates and guests. On this occasion, wheelchairs, scholarships, and gifts were presented to AO victims, showing genuine care, empathy, and a strong spirit of community solidarity.

With the wholehearted participation of the Van Lang University Trade Union, the event was not only an opportunity to commemorate those who endured suffering and loss but also a reminder of the responsibility shared by every individual and organization in accompanying and supporting the victims, helping them improve their living conditions and nurturing hope for a brighter future.

Through this meaningful program, the Van Lang University Trade Union contributed to spreading profound humanitarian values, inspiring solidarity and compassion within the community, and raising public awareness about overcoming the long-lasting consequences of AO.
