Van Lang University students win prizes at the 6th Vietnam Interior Design Student Awards

On June 7, 2025, the final round and awards ceremony of the Vietnam Interior Design Student Awards 2024 (ISA 2024) took place in an energetic and exciting atmosphere, featuring 10 of the most outstanding and distinctive projects selected from over 200 submissions. Notably, Lu Quynh Giao and Dong Thi To Uyen, alumni of Van Lang University, received Encouragement Prizes at the competition.

The competition was held to review and enhance the quality of instruction and graduation projects at accredited interior design programs across the country. It offered young potential designers an opportunity to express their personalities, engage in exchange, and improve professional skills. After six seasons, ISA has increasingly affirmed its reputation within the design community.

Lu Quynh Giao, an alumna from Class 24 of the Bachelor of Interior Design program, shared that ISA was a major challenge that pushed her beyond her comfort zone to express her unique design identity in a professional arena. With her project "Cham An Gom – Coffee & Workshop", she impressed with a strong personal mark, expressing her love for Vietnamese ceramics and her desire to preserve traditional values in a way that is accessible and resonates with both young audiences and international visitors. “The most valuable experience was the moment I stood there, presenting with confidence. It wasn’t just a presentation, but a sincere story and a heartfelt tribute to those who came to experience it,” said Quynh Giao.

With her project “Oceanographic Museum,” To Uyen conveyed a message of environmental protection and a love for her homeland.

Born and raised in Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa province), Dong Thi To Uyen (an alumna from Class 26 of the Bachelor of Interior Design program) has deep affection for her coastal hometown. Inspired by that connection, she developed the "Oceanographic Museum" graduation project to promote the message: “Protecting the oceans is not just a slogan, it’s a responsibility.”

Reflecting on the feedback from the professional jury, To Uyen shared that she gained many valuable and useful lessons. She also expressed gratitude and appreciation for her time studying at Van Lang University: “Van Lang was the place where I was allowed to try, to fail, and to learn – that helped me gain confidence to take part in ISA and be ready for the journeys ahead.”

The Vietnam Interior Design Student Awards is an annual event that honors outstanding graduation projects by interior design students; it encourages learning and professional passion, fosters creativity, and creates a professional, positive, and meaningful playground for students.
