Van Lang University Students Honored as Outstanding Students from Laos and Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City 2023

Every year, Van Lang University welcomes numerous international students for cultural exchange, academic participation, and social activities. In December, 2023, VLU received delightful news: 9 students from Laos studying at VLU were honored as “Outstanding Students from Laos and Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City 2023.”

The "Outstanding Students from Laos and Cambodia" title aims to recognize and reward exemplary students from Laos and Cambodia currently studying in Ho Chi Minh City for their outstanding academic achievements and active participation in cultural exchange activities, fostering friendship between the two countries. After 18 years of organizing, 1,167 outstanding students from Laos and Cambodia studying at universities and academies in Ho Chi Minh City have been commended, providing motivation for others to strive for excellence.

On December 3, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union honored 123 exemplary students from Laos and Cambodia. The 9 Laotian students studying at VLU were acknowledged for their excellent academic performance, active involvement in extracurricular activities, and contributions to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia; many have received this title for consecutive years as well.

Xayyasongkham Soukphachan mentioned that he and other Laotian students always receive caring and dedicated support from VLU. "Van Lang University has policies ensuring that we have the most convenient learning environment, from assistance with procedures and enrollment documents to resolving language barriers and integrating into the learning environment in Vietnam... More than just a place to study, for me, Van Lang University is my second home."

Choosing to study in the Environmental Engineering Technology at VLU, student Thimahaxay Roungvilay stated, "I want to use the knowledge I have acquired to understand and improve the environment in which I live, serving my future dream of establishing an environmental company."

Studying away from one's homeland is a challenging journey. With the title "Outstanding Students from Laos and Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City 2023," we extend our best wishes to the Laotian students at Van Lang University, hoping that this recognition brings them joy and motivation to overcome challenges and achieve great success.
