Van Lang University Students Explore the Circular Economy with Singapore Management University Peers

From December 19 to 20, 2024, Van Lang University collaborated with Singapore Management University (SMU) and community partner EVG to organize the International Service-Learning program. This initiative provided an opportunity for students from both universities to engage in cultural exchange and explore the Service-Learning model in the context of digital transformation.

Van Lang University has implemented the Service-Learning model since 2019, integrating theoretical courses with extracurricular and practical activities. This approach aims to provide students with multidimensional learning experiences while fostering a deeper connection with the community.

During the cultural exchange on December 19, 2024, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Huy, a lecturer from the Faculty of Information Technology at Van Lang Technology School (VLTECH), shared his expertise on utilizing modern technologies like AI and Blockchain to optimize operations and address global challenges such as climate change and energy security. He also provided in-depth insights into smart grids and energy management systems for renewable energy development, offering students practical perspectives and opportunities for international learning and collaboration.

Singaporean students enjoyed exploring Van Lang University campus along with working in groups. 

On December 20, 2024, the Singaporean students explored sustainable solutions through recycling and upcycling initiatives, creating eco-friendly products. They crafted unique personal bags from recycled tarp materials, contributing to spreading a strong message of environmental protection.

Through international exchange programs, Van Lang University promotes the Service-Learning model, aiming to train students into global citizens. These programs provide students with opportunities to connect with international peers, develop soft skills, build relationships, and enhance global integration capabilities.
