On October 8, 2024. Van Lang University’s Student Success Center, in collaboration with Simple English System, organized a workshop “Learn to Remember – Leveraging Technology for Successful Learning”, attracting a large number of students.
Addressing questions related to English learning, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dat, a lecturer from the Van Lang Language Institute demonstrated the prevalence and necessity of English, especially IELTS, through an engaging mini-game. Drawing on his experiences, he outlined effective language learning strategies and ways to stimulate students’ research and self-study abilities.
Mr. Luong Thac Vu, an IELTS teacher management and training expert at IELTS Power Up and a research and training consultant at TESOL Simple Education, shed light on optimizing the learning experience through technology, he highlighted the two potent learning strategies: Spaced Repetition and Active Recall. Through illustrative examples, he affirmed that these are two effective learning strategies, improving memory and information retention, allowing learners to apply them in practice quickly.
The workshop fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas, students interacted and shared diverse perspectives and practical experiences with the speakers, contributing to the creation and connection of the academic community. Simple English System also awarded numerous appealing scholarships to VLU students at the workshop to encourage their learning and creativity.
Hope that these effective learning strategies will gain widespread adoption within the student community, empowering students with the confidence to excel in their academic pursuits and explore knowledge.
