On April 14, 2026, a delegation from Van Lang University visited and worked with Beijing Language and Culture University (China), opening up new opportunities for academic exchange and international learning experiences for students and faculty.
As part of the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University, and Prof. Duan Peng, President of Beijing Language and Culture University, held a bilateral meeting and officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The two institutions agreed to establish a strategic partnership to support teaching, research, and other academic activities.

Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is a public university founded in 1962 under the Ministry of Education of China. Often referred to as a “mini United Nations,” BLCU fosters a multicultural learning environment, bringing together students from more than 170 countries. The university is particularly renowned for their strengths in language, cultural, and international studies. Their academic reputation is reflected in the ranking of 101–150 globally in Modern Languages and Linguistics in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
This partnership holds particular significance as both institutions bring strong expertise and established reputations in the field of Social Sciences. According to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, Van Lang University is ranked #260 in Arts & Humanities and #451–500 globally in Social Sciences & Management.

Currently, BLCU offers a comprehensive academic system across multiple disciplines, with more than 50 undergraduate programs, over 50 master’s programs, and more than 20 doctoral programs. Beyond their traditional strengths in language and cultural studies, the university has expanded into fields such as International Economics, Finance, Media, and Information Technology. The presence of specialized units such as the HSK Testing Center and leading language research institutes enables BLCU to play a pivotal role in standardizing Chinese language education worldwide.

Under the signed agreement, the two universities will prioritize collaboration in developing joint research projects, co-organizing academic courses, conferences, and specialized lectures. In addition to student and faculty exchange programs, both institutions also agreed to regularly share publications and academic resources, enriching learning materials for their respective academic communities.
Partnering with Beijing Language and Culture University opens up new spaces for cultural exchange and hands-on learning for Van Lang University students. Upcoming initiatives are expected to offer diverse, real-world experiences, enabling learners to engage more closely with international education environments.
