Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu emphasized Van Lang University’s commitment to dedicated investment in human and material resources in partnership with Operation Smile.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Quang Phi (MD), representing Van Lang Health Care Co., Ltd., Rector of the Faculties of Health Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Van Lang University, shared insights into the academic and clinical strengths supporting the initiative. He also reflected on more than a decade of developing humanitarian programs to serve the community alongside education and professional training.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Duc, Program Director of Operation Smile Vietnam, shared the organization’s mission and expressed confidence in the collaboration’s potential to advance comprehensive patient care. Children born with cleft lip and palate often face numerous developmental challenges, including speech difficulties and psychosocial barriers that affect their confidence and social integration. Addressing these needs requires sustained care and support beyond early surgical intervention.

The agreement paves the way for surgical and non-surgical treatment programs, as well as academic training activities for patients with cleft lip and palate. In the coming period, both partners will implement a range of practical, high-quality, and rigorously managed programs.

Previously, Van Lang University collaborated with Operation Smile Vietnam to organize Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training courses aligned with American Heart Association standards, held from December 14–18, 2025, at the Medical Skills Training Center (MSC). The program aimed to enhance practical emergency response skills for doctors and nurses from hospitals and healthcare institutions nationwide.
