As part of Bangkok Design Week 2026 (BKKDW2026), Van Lang University participated as a key international partner of Silpakorn University (Thailand) in the community art and design project “Trok Kamphaeng It: Ready for S/O/S”.
The event took place at the Bang Lamphu heritage precinct and brought together several leading regional universities. The postgraduate delegation from Van Lang University demonstrated professional competence, a rigorous research ethos, and a deep capacity for cultural integration.

The graduate students’ journey in Thailand centered on a design practice rooted closely in local life. Through a series of in-depth workshops and field surveys in Bang Lamphu, the postgraduates drew on local cultural material to develop projects in mural art, lighting design, and spatial installation. Guided by the concept of creating a Liveable Cultural Space, the works reached beyond visual aesthetics to propose practical, functional solutions for the community.

In addition to the exhibition activities, Van Lang University’s postgraduates and partner institutions collaborated with the local youth collective “Kaesorn Lamphu” to take part in contemporary art performances.
Van Lang University’s presence at Bangkok Design 2026 marks our professional standing on the regional design map, further expanding the space for dialogue between education, heritage, and community within the context of creative globalization.
