Van Lang University's 2024-2025 Labor Conference

On the afternoon of November 23th, 2024, Van Lang University held its Labor Conference for the 2024-2025 academic year. University leaders and representatives of faculties, lecturers, and staff gathered to review the outstanding achievements of the 2023-2024 academic year and set new goals for 2024-2025.

The Labor Conference is an annual event at Van Lang University which is held at the end of each academic year. The Presidium consisted of: Ms. Bui Thi Van Anh – Chairwoman of Board of Trustees, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – President, and Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy – Chairwoman of the University's Trade Union.

Ms. Bui Thi Van Anh – Chairwoman of Board of Trustees – delivered a proud address: “The achievements attained are the clearest evidence of the collective effort and determination of the University. We are taking steps on a greater journey, a boundless journey. Enduring organizations do not merely aim to win short-term games but focus on pursuing timeless values. For Van Lang, these values are "MORALITY – WILL – CREATIVITY" – the core values that have driven our continuous innovation and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact and inspiring society.”

In the 2023-2024 academic year summary report, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – President of Van Lang University – acknowledged the collective and individual efforts across various areas of positive development during the academic year, particularly the growth in scientific research and Van Lang's strengthened position in the Vietnamese education system and its expanding international presence.

The tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year are defined with the objectives of: (1) fulfilling Van Lang University's mission and vision; (2) building the Van Lang brand according to the standards of prestigious global rankings such as THE/QS World University Rankings and establishing the University as an influential institution aligned with sustainable development goals; (3) continuing the plan to develop Van Lang University into Van Lang University System (implying a further expansion or status change); (4) implementing university digital transformation programs; (5) developing an international university within Van Lang University; and (6) preparing for the 30th anniversary of the University's founding.

The Van Lang University Labor Union proudly announced three consecutive years of leading the competition within the Emulation Group 5, including receiving the flag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2022. The diverse and meaningful activities organized by the Labor Union Executive Board have consistently received enthusiastic participation from Van Lang University's faculty, fostering a cohesive and strong trade union. Many activities reflecting Van Lang's identity have become "brands": the Chung cake and Tet cake festival; the Trade Union sports competition; the cross-country running competition; and Van Lang Family Day...

Van Lang University's human resource development strategy emphasizes ensuring the well-being of its personnel so that faculty, lecturers, and staff can wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to building an admirable work culture and environment based on human values and Van Lang's identity. Each member of Van Lang is making a positive contribution to the University's overall development, possessing high motivation and finding value, joy, and happiness every day.

With joy and pride in looking back on a year of "breaking limits", with a spirit of unity, perseverance, and high aspirations, the Van Lang collective will together conquer new heights, not only for the University's reputation but also for the overall development of society and the country.
