From May 12 to June 30, 2025, Van Lang University is officially receiving applications for the V-SAT Competency Assessment. The exam results can be used for admission to over 60 undergraduate programs at Van Lang University, as well as at other institutions that recognize the V-SAT score as part of their admission process.
The V-SAT (Standardized University Admissions Test for Vietnam) is a Competency Assessment Exam organized by universities to evaluate candidates’ academic potential for undergraduate education. It focuses on core competencies such as logical reasoning, data analysis, problem-solving, and effective language use. The exam is designed to be streamlined and flexible, conducted entirely on computers. The scoring system is automated within the testing software, allowing candidates to receive their results quickly..
With the exam question bank provided by the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assurance under the Ministry of Education and Training, Van Lang University is one of the official institutions organizing the V-SAT exam. The university is responsible for fully preparing all conditions required for the exam in accordance with current regulations, including facilities, testing equipment, and providing information and guidance for candidates during the registration process. V-SAT results are officially used as one of the admission methods for Van Lang University and other affiliated institutions that recognize this assessment.
1. ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES FOR REGISTRATION
a) Students currently studying in the high school program or the continuing education program at the high school level;
b) Students who have completed the high school program but have not yet taken the high school graduation exam, or those who took the exam in previous years but have not graduated;
c) Graduates of high school; those who have graduated from intermediate-level programs and hold a high school diploma (according to the provisions of the Education Law and related guiding documents), or those who have graduated from high school programs abroad or in Vietnam (recognized by the host country as equivalent to the Vietnamese high school level);
d) Individuals who have graduated from college level or higher.
2. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must not be under disciplinary suspension from taking exams, and must register for the exam and submit all required documents and fees according to regulations.
3. EXAM CONTENT
The exam content closely follows the current general education curriculum and is highly discriminative: The test is designed according to the knowledge and skills standards of the current general education program. The weighting of knowledge components is appropriate for effectively differentiating and ranking candidates to select those qualified for university admission.
The exam content is based on the high school curriculum, primarily focusing on the 12th-grade program (about 90% of the test material).
There are a total of 8 subjects: Mathematics, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography. Candidates can choose subjects that best suit their admission requirements.
Exam format: objective multiple-choice tests for each subject independently on a computer (except for Literature, which is a written essay exam).
Duration: 90 minutes per subject (for Mathematics and Literature), 60 minutes per subject (for the remaining subjects).
Question types in the exam: Each test consists of three types of questions: (1) True/False multiple-choice questions, (2) Matching multiple-choice questions (pairing), and (3) Multiple-choice questions with four options.
4. EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
Registration period: From May 12, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
Exam date: July 8, 2025
Exam location: Van Lang University - Campus 1 (45 Nguyen Khac Nhu, Co Giang Ward, District 1).
5. EXAM REGISTRATION
Candidates access the website https://vsat.vlu.edu.vn/ view the instructions and complete the online registration for the exam application.
6. EXAM REGISTRATION FEE
• The exam fee for the Literature subject is 200,000 VND/subject/exam session.
• The exam fee for other subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, English) is 130,000 VND/subject/exam session.
7. METHOD OF EXAM FEE PAYMENT
Candidates can choose one of the following three methods to pay the exam registration fee:
a) Online payment: Candidates can pay the examination fee via VNPAY QR payment service (at the link https://vsat.vlu.edu.vn/) right after completing their application registration.
b) Direct Payment: Candidates may pay in cash or by international debit/credit card at the Accounting Office: Building A – Room 1.05 - Main Campus (69/68 Dang Thuy Tram Street, Ward 13, Binh Thanh District).).
c) Payment via bank transfer using the following information:
• Account name: Trường Đại học Văn Lang.

In addition to the new admission method based on the results of the computer-based university entrance assessment (V-SAT), Van Lang University also maintains five familiar admission methods:
• Method 1: Admission based on the results of the 2025 Vietnamese High School Graduation Examination.
• Method 2: Admission based on high school academic performance (academic transcript).
• Method 3: Admission based on the results of the 2025 Competency Assessment by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
• Method 4: Admission based on a combination of academic results and aptitude test scores for 10 majors: Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Digital Art Design, Piano, Vocal Music, Film & Television Directing, and Acting for Stage and Screen.
• Method 5: Direct admission (in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and specific policies of Van Lang University in 2025).
Under the admission method based on the computerized university entrance exam (V-SAT), in addition to test results from Van Lang University, the university also accepts V-SAT scores issued by 11 other participating institutions. These include: Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon University, University of Finance and Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Banking Academy, Can Tho University, Dong Thap University, Tra Vinh University, Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, and Thai Nguyen University.
