Mass Communication – Continuing the Southern legacy in PR and Media majors
Van Lang University has been a pioneer in Public Relations education in Southern Vietnam since 2007, a milestone that laid the groundwork for professional media training in the country. Over nearly two decades, the Faculty of Public Relations & Communication has grown into a prestigious academic unit, consistently providing high-quality talent to the media, advertising, journalism, and event industries. Its two existing majors, Public Relations and Multimedia Communication, attract a large number of new students annually.
In 2025, Van Lang University officially introduces the Mass Communication major as part of our strategic approach to modern media education. Van Lang University is also the first higher educational institution in Southern Vietnam to offer this major.
Mass Communication is a forward-looking field aligned with the rapid evolution of today’s media landscape. The major focuses on developing graduates with a strong foundation in journalism and communication, cross-platform content creation skills, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset for the digital media sector.
Students in the Mass Communication major will be equipped with foundational knowledge and practical skills in multimedia content creation, program production, strategic communication planning, corporate media management, community management, and personal branding. They will gain hands-on experience in managing digital newsrooms, operating modern studios, launching media startups, and so on.
Building on Van Lang University’s strengths in media education, the Mass Communication curriculum is designed with a strong focus on practical learning, project-based study, collaborative work with industry experts, and an immersive learning ecosystem that includes studios, post-production suites, a student-run TV station, digital media labs, and a series of workshops, talk shows, and business-connected competitions. From their first year, students are encouraged to create and produce real content, progressively developing into content creators, corporate media specialists, hosts, personal media channel developers, media entrepreneurs, etc.

Natural Resources and Environmental Management – Expanding the 30-year legacy of environmental education at Van Lang University
Part of the Technology area, the environmental field at Van Lang University has a rich history spanning over 30 years. Established in 1995, the Faculty of Environment is one of the University's core academic units. Our Environmental Engineering Technology major received AUN-QA accreditation in 2022 and has been involved in numerous international cooperation projects. This strong foundation paves the way for the University to launch the new Natural Resources and Environmental Management major in 2025.
The major adopts an application-oriented curriculum, offering students access to cutting-edge content such as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in resource management, energy auditing for efficiency optimization, and carbon credits and markets — areas that are generating a wide range of new career opportunities.
Beyond technical knowledge, the major emphasizes critical thinking, analytical skills, digital competencies, and professional ethics, preparing students to thrive in a globally competitive environment while taking on pioneering roles in building a greener future for the community. Graduates may pursue careers as environmental management specialists, HSE/ESG officers in enterprises, sustainable development consultants, energy auditors, or project officers at NGOs and government agencies.
