Van Lang University launches Spring Volunteer Campaign 2026 with “Proud Spring – Continuing the Tradition” program

On the afternoon of January 12, 2026, Van Lang University organized the program “Proud Spring – Continuing the Tradition” as part of the Spring Volunteer Campaign 2026. The program featured two main components: the induction ceremony of 440 new members into the Vietnam Students’ Association, combined with a screening of the historical film “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark.”

Held at the beginning of the new year, the program served as the opening activity of the Spring Volunteer Campaign 2026. It was designed to provide students with an opportunity to reflect on historical values and traditions, thereby fostering a stronger awareness of their roles and responsibilities in both academic life and the wider community.

Based on the Charter of the Vietnam Students’ Association and with the approval of the Executive Committee for the 2025–2028 term, the Secretariat of the Van Lang University’s Students’ Association issued the official decision to admit 440 students from seven faculties into the Association. At the ceremony, representatives of the new members received the Association badge and expressed their commitment to actively participate in the Association’s activities and movements in accordance with its Charter and the assignments of the Executive Committee.

As part of the program, the feature film “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark,” directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, was introduced and screened. Set in the Cu Chi tunnel system in 1967, the film portrays the struggles of a group of young guerrilla fighters under harsh wartime conditions, vividly highlighting their resilience, solidarity, and enduring aspiration for life during a challenging historical period.

Through its program components, the role and activities of the Vietnam Students’ Association at Van Lang University were clearly presented, emphasizing the organization’s significance, its support for students, and its movements associated with personal development and social responsibility. The program concluded in a serious and reflective atmosphere, providing a meaningful foundation for the Spring Volunteer Campaign 2026 and aligning with the comprehensive education orientation pursued by Van Lang University.
