Van Lang University is holding the second round of graduation project defenses for students of Class 27 & Class 26 and earlier in the Interior Design major

On January 10, 2026, the Faculty of Arts & Design – Van Lang University held the second graduation project defense ceremony for students of Class 27 in Interior Design. The defense presented projects covering various themes, from cultural and service buildings, accommodation spaces, exhibitions, and education to applied commercial models. These projects demonstrated the students' research capabilities, idea development, and aesthetic application after four years of study.

Notably, local elements and cultural narratives continue to be a highlight in the presentation trends of many projects this year. At Council 3, students proactively explored socio-cultural materials, combining them with contemporary design thinking to create spaces that are both functional and deeply rooted in identity.

The results of the defense showed that the project "KHAN OI KHAN Coffee" by Nguyen Ngoc Yen Vy received the highest score from the entire judging panel (9.4 points). The project draws inspiration from the Ede epic, building a spatial experience as a new form of storytelling, where users can enjoy coffee while simultaneously engaging with Central Highlands culture through visual language and spatial organization. The panel highly praised the project's ability to handle materials and organize the experiential flow, making the cultural message relatable and capable of spreading.

Ranked as the first runner-up (9.2 points), Huynh Nguyen Truc My's project, "Ethereal Hotel," chose Da Lat as its inspiration, recreating characteristic landscape elements such as mist, pine trees, and lighting through the language of shapes and materials. The project was praised for its aesthetics and meticulous presentation.

In addition, the Council also announced two projects that achieved the second-highest ranking (9.0 points), including

Nguyen Mai Linh's project, "Center for Conservation and Promotion of Indigenous Knowledge - Kon Tum," aims for a model of archiving, research, and interaction to preserve indigenous knowledge of the Central Highlands, while also reintroducing it through exhibitions and educational activities for the community.

With his project "FOUR SEASONS Resort Cu Lao Cham - Coi Village," Ton That Duy Quang proposes an architectural language inspired by traditional craft villages, prioritizing the use of local materials to create a resort experience connected to the regional identity.

The judging panel stated that this year's high-scoring projects all demonstrated three core elements: the ability to implement ideas, the capacity to solve functional problems, and the connection between materials, aesthetics, and cultural narratives. Several participating businesses also expressed interest in topics with a local-based design approach and their applicability in the context of current tourism and service development.

The defense session concluded with a summary and professional feedback from the panel. The University considered the defense a crucial preparatory step before students enter the professional environment, especially given the high demand for interior design professionals in the domestic market.
