On the morning of Saturday, June 28, 2025, Van Lang University successfully organized its 7th Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The congress concluded with the election of the new Executive Committee of the Party Committee for the upcoming term.
Conducted in a solemn and unified spirit under the theme Unity - Innovation - Development - Progress, the 2025–2030 Party Congress demonstrated the Party Committee’s strong commitment to building a clean and strong Party organization. The Congress was attended by 99 official delegates representing 265 Party members from 10 affiliated Party cells within Van Lang University.
Reflecting on the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of Van Lang University achieved significant progress across multiple areas, fully and effectively implementing the Resolutions of the 6th Party Congress.
In his report summarizing the past term, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Tuan - Party Committee Secretary and Standing Vice President of the University – emphasized the importance of unity and shared purpose in maintaining Party stability. The Party Committee issued and implemented a Working Regulation that clearly outlined the roles, responsibilities, and principles of operation for both Party cells and individuals. Throughout the term, the Committee consistently and promptly distributed Party directives, upheld the principles of democratic centralism, and promoted constructive criticism and self-criticism during regular meetings. Party activities were continuously refreshed in both content and format. The process of developing new Party members followed the proper timeline and regulations. Each Party member upheld their pioneering and exemplary role, serving as the driving force behind teaching, operations, and overall development of Van Lang University.
Building on the achievements and limitations of the previous term, the Party Committee proposed strategic directions, objectives, and solutions for the 2025–2030 term. The overarching goal is to continue strengthening the Party organization; enhancing governance and operational effectiveness; advancing academic, research, and technological capabilities; improving the well-being of faculty and staff; and leading Party members and the wider community in adhering to the rule of law and the Party’s policies and guidelines.
In accordance with Party regulations and procedures, the Congress elected the new Executive Committee of Van Lang University’s Party Committee for the 7th term (2025–2030), consisting of seven members: Comrade Bui Thi Van Anh – Chairwoman of the University Council; Comrade Phan Nhat Linh – Deputy Director of the Center for Testing and Assessment; Comrade Nguyen Dac Thai – Deputy Dean, Faculty of Arts & Design; Comrade Dinh Xuan Toa – Director of the Student Support Center; Comrade Le Thu Hang – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences; Comrade Mai Binh Duong – Dean of the Faculty of Accounting & Auditing; Comrade Chau Thoai Ve – Deputy Director of the Student Support Center.
The first meeting of the Party Executive Committee for the new term 2025-2030 was held immediately after the election and elected the Standing Committee, Secretary, Commission for Disciplinary Inspection, and Chairman of the Commission for Disciplinary Inspection. The Standing Committee of the Party Committee was elected, consisting of: Comrade Bui Thi Van Anh, Comrade Mai Binh Duong, Comrade Dinh Xuan Toa; Comrade Bui Thi Van Anh was elected as the Party Secretary. The Commission for Disciplinary Inspection includes: Comrade Le Thu Hang, Comrade Phan Nhat Linh, and Comrade Dinh Xuan Toa; Comrade Dinh Xuan Toa was elected as the Chairperson and Comrade Le Thu Hang was elected as the Vice Chairperson of the Commission for Disciplinary Inspection.
Delivering her congratulatory speech at the Congress, Comrade Ha Thi Hong Hai - Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Organisation Commission of HCMC People's Committee - encouraged and acknowledged the Party Committee's achievements during the 2020–2025 term and offered strategic direction for the new term. She emphasized key priorities in accordance to the Party Committee's resolutions and policies.
With the successful congratulation of the 7th Party Congress of Van Lang University for the 2025–2030 term, all Party members across VLU reaffirm their trust in the leadership of the Party Committee. Together, they will continue to strengthen strategic development, address management and academic challenges, enhance facilities, and elevate the Van Lang University education brand - contributing to the innovation and transformation of Vietnamese higher education.
