On November 25, 2024, Van Lang University organized a career orientation session for 600 students from Le Trong Tan High School (Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City), aiming to provide insights into the labor market within the context of the VUCA era.
The term “VUCA” is terminology to describe the multivariate context and the challenges of a rapidly evolving and complex global environment, characterized by four key dimensions: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. In such a dynamic context, students often face significant challenges in selecting an appropriate field of study for higher education. Through the sharing session, students have the opportunity to take a more serious look at choosing a major and orienting their future careers.
The event also equipped participants with essential soft skills, such as time management and effective planning through tools like the Eisenhower Matrix. Additionally, students learned about the steps involved in developing a career roadmap. They completed the Holland Code assessment, allowing them to explore their potential and align their interests, personalities, and abilities with the requirements of different career fields.
The students enthusiastically engaged in activities and posed thoughtful questions to the speaker.
Van Lang University aspires for each career orientation session to help students better understand themselves and proactively shape their futures while still in high school. The University pledges to accompany students on their career development journeys under the philosophy: Know Yourself – Choose Your Major – Choose Your Career. Van Lang University looks forward to meeting high school students in innovative admission activities for the academic year 2024–2025.
