As part of the Vietnamese higher education delegation accompanying the State visit to China from April 14 to 17, 2026, Van Lang University participated in the Education Cooperation Forum at Tsinghua University and carried out partnership meetings and signing activities with strategic partners in Beijing and Guangzhou.

During the State visit to China from April 14 to 17, 2026, the Van Lang University delegation participated in a series of high-level activities jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education of China. The visit brought together representatives from approximately 100 leading higher education institutions from both countries, with the shared goal of positioning science, technology, and innovation as key pillars of bilateral cooperation. The prioritization of high-quality human resource development, considered a “priority of priorities”, served as a guiding principle throughout the sessions, aiming to build a robust knowledge ecosystem and a thriving talent community across the region.

On the afternoon of April 14, 2026, the Van Lang University delegation attended the “Vietnam-China Forum on Higher Education Cooperation, Science, Technology and Innovation” held at Tsinghua University. At the forum, General Secretary and President To Lam delivered a policy address to international scholars, emphasizing the strategic direction of positioning science, technology, and innovation as new pillars of development. He also called on universities to strengthen exchanges of students and scholars, and to establish joint research groups in key fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and green technology. This vision aligns closely with Van Lang University’s internationalization strategy, further inspiring the VLU community to expand global engagement and actively embrace new knowledge.

During the visit, Van Lang University officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) - Beijing. BLCU is a leading institution in language and cultural education, ranked 101-150 globally in Modern Languages and Linguistics (QS 2026). This collaboration is grounded in the strong academic standing of both institutions, as Van Lang University is currently ranked #260 worldwide in Arts & Humanities and among #451–500 in Social Sciences & Management. The two sides agreed to implement joint research projects, promote student and faculty exchanges, and share academic resources to support specialized training.

On April 16, 2026, the Van Lang University delegation visited and explored the operational model at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) - HKUST(GZ). Located in Nansha District (Guangzhou), a key innovation hub within the Greater Bay Area, the campus is a strategic extension that fully inherits the academic excellence of the HKUST system, ranked #44 globally and #6 in Asia (QS Rankings 2026).

The working visit focused on key areas, including the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, knowledge transfer strategies, and the operation of advanced laboratory systems. HKUST(GZ) is pioneering a shift away from traditional faculty structures toward interdisciplinary research hubs (Hub & Thrust), alongside a “Living Lab” model that fosters the convergence of digital technologies, intelligent systems, and contemporary societal challenges.

Representatives of Van Lang Education Group (Van Lang University, Phuong Dong University, and Binh Duong Economics and Technology University) visited and worked with the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). CUPL is ranked 65th globally in Law and Legal Studies according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
