Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also the cornerstone of a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Recognizing this importance, Van Lang University (VLU) is committed to achieving this critical goal, one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations in 2015.

To promote gender equality effectively, VLU has systematically developed tools to annually measure and track the enrollment and graduation rates of female students. From 2019 to 2023, the University consistently contributed a growing number of female graduates to society, with a significant year-over-year increase. Notably, the number of female graduates grew from 1,239 in the 2018-2019 academic year to 4,388 in just five years, reflecting a remarkable 3.5-fold increase and demonstrating VLU's effective strategies in promoting female education.

For VLU, tracking female graduation rates is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of the University’s academic programmes, It also serves as a foundation for developing supportive policies for female students. These include scholarships for talented women, specialized workshops featuring national and international experts, and a range of extracurricular activities designed to equip them with essential skills and knowledge to meet labor market demands.

Through these initiatives, VLU encourages female students to pursue their academic journeys and expands their opportunities in fields such as engineering and technology, where female representation remains quite low.

By consistently tracking and measuring female enrollment and graduation rates, VLU aims to develop targeted programmes and policies that cultivate a fair learning environment and promote the comprehensive development of women across all fields. For Van Lang University, gender equality is not merely a goal; it is the cornerstone of sustainable development.
