Van Lang University announces the 2025 Direct Admission for international students applying to undergraduate programs

According to the 2025 Admission Plan, Van Lang University officially launched the Direct Admission process for international students on June 19, 2025. Applicable to 59 undergraduate majors, this admission pathway, first introduced in 2020, aims to broaden access for international applicants while advancing the University’s strategy of attracting outstanding students to the Van Lang community.

1. ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Eligible applicants: Applicants must have completed high school or an equivalent qualification.
Admission conditions: Candidates must meet the current regulations of Vietnam:
Language requirement: 
Proficiency in the language of instruction as required by the program or major in accordance with Ministry of Education and Training regulations
Health requirement: A health certificate issued by a competent medical authority confirming eligibility for study (may be submitted later upon enrollment).

2. ADMISSION METHODS

Direct admission is granted to applicants whose high school diploma is recognized as equivalent to a Vietnamese high school diploma, in accordance with current legal regulations.
Additional requirements apply for majors in the fields of arts and health sciences, as outlined below:

  • For arts-related majors (Graphic Design, Digital Art and Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Vocal Performance, Piano Performance, Film and Television Directing, Acting For Stage and Screen): Applicants perform and submit an entry exam in relevant fields (Drawing/Music/Stage & Film). Qualified applicants will then attend an online interview with the academic committee. English or Vietnamese may be used in both the exam and interview.
  • For health-related majors (Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science): Applicants must meet the academic performance requirements at the high school level: they must have achieved a total score of at least 19.5 in the required subject combination for their intended major (for Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science) or 24.0 (for Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Medicine), or an equivalent converted score. In addition to the above, the Committee may conduct an online interview. Applicants may use either English or Vietnamese during the interview.

3. PROGRAMS OPEN FOR ADMISSION

3.1. Programs Taught Entirely in English
Majors: Business Administration (7340101), Information Technology (7480201), Architecture (7580101), Logistics and Supply Chain Management (7510605).

English proficiency requirement: Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to CEFR level B2 or higher, or must have graduated from a general education, vocational, college, or university program delivered entirely in English.


3.2 Programs Taught Entirely in Vietnamese
Majors: 59 majors (see attached list).

Vietnamese proficiency requirement: Vietnamese proficiency requirement: Applicants must demonstrate Vietnamese proficiency equivalent to B2 (Level 4/6) of the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework (per Circular No. 17/2015/TT-BGDĐT), or must have graduated from a high school, vocational, college, or university program delivered entirely in Vietnamese.

Applicants without sufficient Vietnamese proficiency will be provided with an opportunity to enroll in a 1-year Vietnamese preparatory course a university on completion of the course, the applicant must take and pass the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Certificate exam for foreigners, which is organized by universities authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training, in order to be officially admitted to the University.

4. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

  • An application form using Van Lang University's template)
  • A copy of high school diploma or its equivalent;
  • A notarized copy of the academic transcript/report card;
  • A notarized copy of the language proficiency certificate (if available);
  • A health certificate issued by a recognized medical authority (may be submitted later HO upon enrollment);  
  • A notarized copy of the passport;
    (Note: All documents must be translated into English or Vietnamese.)

 5. APPLICATION TIMELINE

- Round 1: June 20, 2025 - July 20, 2025;
- Round 2: July 20, 2025 - August 20, 2025;

6. APPLICATION SUBMISSION METHODS

 Applicants may submit their application in one of the following ways:

  • In-person submission at the International Student Support Center on Campus: Room 1.10, Building A - Main Campus (69/68 Dang Thuy Tram Street, Ward 13, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
  • Submit the application online via the University's email inbox at: issc@vlu.edu.vn.
