On the morning of May 6th 2025, the “Global Connectivity 2025” program between Van Lang University and Fontys University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) officially kicked off, marking another milestone in the strong and lasting international partnership between two institutions.
In the opening remarks, Mr. Tran Luu Phuong Nam - Deputy Head of the Department of Partnership and Engagement at Van Lang University, emphasized the significance of Global Connectivity 2025 program. The strong trade partnership between Vietnam and Netherlands serves as a solid foundation for multifaceted collaboration, particularly in education. The diverse range of activities in the program is designed to broaden students’ global perspectives. Van Lang University hopes that Fontys student delegation will enjoy a memorable and meaningful learning experience during their time in Vietnam.
Joining the Global Connectivity 2025 program with students were representatives from Fontys University of Applied Sciences: Dr. Maurice Cuypers - Supervisor of the Acceleration Academy Program; Dr. Mirjam Baars - Supervisor of International Week; Mr. Martin van Bendegom - Supervisor of International Week; and Prof. Dr. Matthew Downs - Supervisor of the Acceleration Academy Program, Kasetsart University.
As part of the exchange program, Fontys students will take part in a wide range of activities, including cultural exchange, community service, themed workshops, and a field trip to Long An to explore the local business environment and cultural heritage.
To enhance cultural connection and create lasting memories, the program also featured a “Do It Yourself” clay painting activity. Students from both universities showcased their creativity by illustrating iconic elements of Vietnamese traditional culture. Upon completion, representatives from Vietnam and Netherlands presented and shared the meanings behind their artwork.
The second edition of Global Connectivity 2025 continued to be a memorable and meaningful experience, strengthening the solid partnership between Van Lang University and Fontys University of Applied Sciences. The program also fostered a spirit of learning and international exchange within student community.
