On June 30, 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Van Lang University welcomed a volunteer delegation from Dongseo University (South Korea) to implement cultural exchange and community service programs for students from both universities in Vietnam.

Notably, this year’s project was carried out with the sponsorship of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). As an annual initiative jointly organized by Van Lang University and Dongseo University, the program aims to provide students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful community projects. Beyond cultivating professional skills and a sense of social responsibility in students, the program also strengthens long-term educational cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea.

Every summer, students from Van Lang University and Dongseo University reunite to share and explore cultural identities. In this year’s gathering, participants joined the “Vietnam-Korea Identity 2025” workshop, where they experienced making traditional toy figurines under the guidance of artisan Tran Thi Le Quyen. Students also handcrafted Korean-style keychains and scented pouches, reflecting the charm of Korean culture.

The “Vietnam-Korea Identity 2025” journey opened up a creative space filled with inspiration, allowing students to personalize their handmade items while preserving traditional values. More than an artistic activity, the workshop served as a bridge connecting students from the two universities. Culture ceased to be a boundary and became a bond between kindred spirits in sharing and companionship.

The welcoming exchange with Dongseo University concluded not only as a platform for cultural sharing but also as a foundation for long-lasting friendship between Vietnam and South Korea, carried forward by the dynamic and ambitious younger generation. This journey will continue through even more meaningful joint projects in the future.
