Van Lang students learn about preventing negative behavior in cyberspace

On December 13, 2023, Van Lang University organized a seminar on "The real situation of harming honor and dignity on social networks and the preventive measure of violations of law in cyberspace" for students of course 29. The seminar is led by MSc. Dang Van Khoa - Head of Politics Department - Faculty of National Defense Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

At the seminar, MSc. Dang Van Khoa explains the basic concepts of cyberspace, honor and dignity. He emphasized that honor and dignity are among the inalienable rights; No individual or entity has the right to infringe upon the dignity and integrity of others. This issue has been established by the constitution and also strictly protected by law.

MSc. Dang Van Khoa gave specific evidence of behaviors that harms honor and dignity on social networks. He said that nowadays, the frequency of these behaviors is increasing rapidly and becoming increasingly complex and difficult to control. This situation reflects that there are still various gaps in moral education, lifestyle and the legal system. Wrong behaviors and unhealthy trends create many negative effects on the young generation. When not properly guided and trained, they easily have misconceptions and lack awareness of the serious effects of violating actions on honor and dignity, thereby unintentionally or intentionally becoming law violators.

Learning how to protect yourself when participating in cyberspace is a necessary lesson for young people in the digital era.

To prevent negative behaviors in cyberspace, MSc. Dang Van Khoa suggests a number of measures to enhance moral education andhealthy lifestyles for students; Propagate and widely disseminate regulations on cyberspace management. In addition, developing skills in identifying cyber attack intentions is also extremely necessary. When participating in cyberspace, each person needs to equip themselves with sufficient knowledge and skills to avoid and defend against and defend themselves when attacked. Not only that, they have to contact and promptly report to the juridical agencies.
