On September 27, 2024, the Student Success Center of Van Lang University, in collaboration with monoX and Universal Music Vietnam, hosted the talk show “Envisioning your sound: Unleashing your inner tone.” The event aimed to equip students with valuable insights into the songwriting process and effective communication strategies.
According to Mr. Sean Doan, International Marketing Manager at Universal Music Vietnam, delivering a song to the audience involves a close collaboration between the artist and the production team. From conceptualization, artists go through multiple stages, including pitching and working with marketing teams to ensure the product reaches its target audience. Using the 5W1H framework, students can efficiently plan their own music projects.
Ms. Hai Yen, a vocal lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Arts, emphasized the importance of discipline and proactively seeking opportunities for development to become a professional artist. Mr. Long Tran shared that the music production process requires strong collaboration between the artist and management. Listening to and understanding artists is key to creating high-quality music that meets public demand. Agreeing with this, Mr. Brian Phan highlighted that balancing commercial aspects requires mutual cooperation between artists and management, helping build an effective personal brand.
At the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Ngoc Thang, Head of the Vocal Department at the Faculty of Applied Arts, emphasized that the collaboration with monoX and Universal Music Vietnam lays a solid foundation for long-term partnerships in the future. The talk show “Envisioning your sound” concluded successfully, marking an important milestone. It opened the door to broader collaborations and created a space for creative, professional, and comprehensive artistic development for Van Lang University students.
