On March 29, 2026, within the framework of the Tokyo Girls Collection Vietnam 2026 Fashion & Music Festival (TGC Vietnam 2026), Canon Fashion Mini Runway – a playground for young designers passionate about creativity – recorded outstanding achievements by students from Van Lang University's Brand Building & Fashion Management major, winning second and third place overall.

Held for the first time in Vietnam, TGC Vietnam 2026 is a prestigious fashion and music event from Japan, taking place over two days, March 28-29, 2026, at Van Phuc City, attracting tens of thousands of attendees. Within this event, the Fashion Mini Runway provides an opportunity for young designers to experiment with ideas, break boundaries, and assert their individuality on the runway, while simultaneously spreading inspiration and unique fashion styles.
Participating in the competition with their collection "Dreamy Sunflower" the student group consisting of Nguyen Hoang Nguyen Chuong (Class 29), Luong Cong Bang (Class 29), Van Kieu Bao Tran (Class 29), Pham Thuy Duong (Class 30), and Pham Vu Ngoc Ha (Class 30) won second prize overall.

Inspired by the bridge connecting the past and the future, "Dream of the Sunflower" comprises 10 designs, showcasing a subtle interplay between heritage beauty and contemporary creativity. From the majesty of tradition and the pristine beauty of nature to the radiant vitality of spring, each design is a unique slice of time.

Through carefully selected forms, materials, and details, the collection portrays the revival and continuation of cultural values. Therefore, "Mong Nhat Hoa" is not just a fashion collection, but also a way for the group to express their desire to honor and spread traditional values in a contemporary spirit.
In addition, the "Impressions" collection by students Vo Huynh Thao Nguyen (Class 29), Dinh Le Bao Ngoc (Class 29), Tran Thi Dieu Tien (Class 29), Vo Van Khoa (Class 29), and Ngo Duc Thinh (Class 29) won third prize overall.

Inspired by Vietnamese culture, architecture, nature, and literature, each design in "Sắc Ấn" ( Impressions) stands out as an independent personality – where colors, materials, and lines intertwine, creating a powerful visual impact while maintaining rich emotional depth. Instead of blending in, "Sắc Ấn" chooses to assert its unique identity – where each imprint only truly has value when expressed authentically.

The two awards at the Canon Fashion Mini Runway demonstrate the proactive and creative thinking of Van Lang Fashion students, while also reflecting how the younger generation approaches fashion as a means of cultural expression – where traditional values are received, renewed, and developed in a contemporary context.
The Branding & Fashion Management specialization is a new training program at Van Lang University, developed to meet the growing demands of the modern fashion market. Given the constant evolution of the fashion industry and innovative business models, the program combines artistic thinking and management skills, opening up numerous career opportunities for young people who love fashion and aspire to develop a career in branding.

This result further affirms the quality of education at the university, demonstrated through academic achievements and the proactive participation and positive results of students in practical fields.
