On September 11th, 2023, the Institute for Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence at Van Lang University (VLU) organized a workshop titled "Potential research directions for the 2024 science and technology program of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and neighboring areas", proposing research topics and discussing future plans for suitable subjects.
The workshop not only facilitated connections among researchers, scientists and discussed valuable scientific and technological topics, but also created opportunities for faculty members to contribute ideas to fully utilize the potential of the Institute for Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence and Van Lang University to meet current societal needs in the digital age.
During the workshop, 24 topics were divided into 5 groups across many fields, all guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Xuan Tham, head of Lab CALS at the Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute:
Every year, many research topics are submitted to relevant government agencies, making registration difficult due to high competition. Finding unique and outstanding research is a challenge for lecturers at present. Therefore, besides proposing topics aligned with the program, this is an opportunity for them to discuss accurate registration and research methods.
Dr. Le Van Ut, the Chairman’s Assistant for scientific research, emphasized that when planning research, it's essential to know your competitors to prepare thoroughly. If needed, both parties can collaborate to perfect the research topic. It is essential to create networks and establish small groups among universities, research institutes, and departments for faculty and scientists in order to facilitate effective information sharing and discussions.
Through the workshop, the Institute for Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence presented potential research topics aligned with the program. Faculty members discussed and suggested feasible topics for future research, contributing to the advancement of current science and technology capabilities.
