UCSI University Students (Malaysia) Create Lasting Memories at Van Lang University

From December 11 to 14, 2024, Van Lang University (VLU) warmly welcomed 20 students from the Faculty of Architecture at UCSI University—one of Malaysia’s leading private universities—for a short-term international student exchange program. This initiative not only fostered cultural exchange and learning opportunities for students from both institutions but also laid the foundation for sustainable collaborations in the future.

On December 11, 2024, UCSI students were excited to explore VLU’s modern facilities and experience its dynamic and creative learning environment. Maureen, a UCSI student, shared: “I’m eagerly looking forward to the upcoming activities at Van Lang University. I can feel the positive energy from how VLU students study, and the campus provides an inspiring space for learners to unleash creativity and enhance their skills.”

The Malaysian students enthusiastically delved into the history and learning environment of Van Lang University.

On December 12–13, 2024, the UCSI delegation participated in a workshop titled “Architectural Heritage in Vietnam.” They engaged in discussions on unique architectural projects across Southeast Asia and explored iconic architectural landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City. These activities offered fresh cultural perspectives, enriching the diversity and connections within ASEAN countries.

On December 14, 2024, UCSI students participated in an architecture workshop focused on the topic “Preserving Hao Si Phuong Neighborhood.” Collaborating with VLU students, they formed eight teams and presented innovative conservation ideas. Dr. Do Phu Hung, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Van Lang University, emphasized: “With impressive themes like Hao Si Phuong, this activity provides a valuable opportunity for students from both universities to exchange professional knowledge, cultural insights, and perspectives on daily life, fostering deeper collaboration between the two nations.”

Building on its policy of expanding international collaborations with prestigious global universities, on October 15, 2024, Van Lang University hosted representatives from UCSI University to discuss master’s programs and potential partnerships with the Faculty of Creative Technology and the Faculty of Tourism. This meeting opened up numerous opportunities for academic cooperation in the near future.
