Training program for staff and faculty members in National Defense and Security Education 2025

Implemented under the direction of the Minister of Education and Training in accordance with Plan No. 775/KH-BGDDT dated June 13th 2025, on training staff and faculty members of National Defence and Security Education (NDSE); integrating national defence and security education into primary and secondary schools in 2025.

In August 2025, the Department of Defence and Security Education at Van Lang University organized a training session on National Defence and Security Education for administrators, full-time lecturers, and visiting lecturers at the university’s NDSE facility. The training session was designed to:

(1) Update participants on new tactics employed by hostile forces, measures to prevent “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”, while enhancing knowledge of non-traditional security and emerging security threats;

(2) Facilitate the exchange of teaching experiences, instructional methods, and the development of practical teaching skills for lecturers.

Topic 1: Preventing the strategy of “peaceful evolution” and subversive riots by hostile forces against the Vietnamese revolution; global, regional, and domestic situations related to national defence and security - Reporter: Mr. Mai Ly Cong Hau, Deputy Head of the Department of National Defence and Security Policy.

Topic 2: Fundamental issues of non-traditional security and responses to non-traditional security threats - Reporter: Mr. Bui Huu Phuc, Assistant Head of the Department of Defence and Security Education, Head of the Department of Defence and Security Policy.

Topic 3: Organization and methods for maintaining practice and correcting exercises for AK assault rifle shooting technique (Exercise 1) - Reporter: Mr. Bui Thanh Sang, Head of the Department of General Military.

Topic 4: Organization and teaching methods for the lesson “Individual Actions in Defensive Combat” - Reporter: Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Lecturer, Department of General Military.

The training session took place in a serious yet open and responsible atmosphere, contributing to the improvement of teaching quality of the National Defence and Security Education at Van Lang University. Through this program, lecturers not only updated their knowledge but also had the opportunity to exchange and learn from each other’s experiences, thereby strengthening the expertise of full-time and visiting lecturers, ready to fulfill their teaching duties assigned by the university.
