Training on program accreditation based on MOET standards for lecturers of 5 programs at van lang university

On the morning of January 17th 2024, the Quality Assurance Department organized a workshop on program accreditation according to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) standards (Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDDT dated 14/3/2016).

Attending the workshop were over 50 lecturers from 5 programs (Laws, Automotive engineering technology, Nursing, Information Technology, Medical testing technology) which are going to be assessed in 2024. Moreover, several managers and staff members from VLU departments and centers participated in the workshop.  

Dr. Nguyen Huu Cuong, Head of the Department of Quality Assurance presented 10 main topics including: (1) Processes and cycle of program accreditationing; (2) Self-assessment process for program accreditation; (3) Standards and criteria of program accreditation; (4) Conditions for recognizing quality standards on programs; (5) Documents used in self-assessment; (6) Structure of the self-assessment report; (7) Templates and formats used in the report; (8) Instructions for encoding information and evidence; (9) Information about the department/center in charge of each criterion; (10) Summary of of 16 accredited programs.

Lecturers and satffs attending the workshop discussed the difficulties and questions during the implementation process so that the University can support the faculties during the process of undertaking the self-assessment.

At the end of the training session, the lecturers were aware of the self-assessment processes and the assessment standards and criteria. Additionally, Dr. Nguyen Huu Cuong, Head of the Quality Assuracne Department stressed that if the programs need support, they can contact the quality assurance staff. The Department of Quality Assurance always accompany the faculities and programs during the quality assurance and accreditation activities.
