Training on FIBAA program accreditation at Van Lang university

Continuing success from institutional accreditation according to FIBAA standards (September 2023), from the 30th to the 31st January 2024, Van Lang University (VLU) in collaboration with FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation), a prestigious international accrediting organization with its headquarter in Germany and a representative office in Switzerland organized an online training workshop on the process and standards for program accreditation according to FIBAA standards. FIBAA has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training to operate in Vietnam under Decision No. 1940/QD-BGDDT dated June 16, 2021. Van Lang University plan to have three undergraduate programs (Bachelor of Real Estate, Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Bachelor of Marketing) accredited by FIBAA in 2024.

The workshop welcomed the presence of FIBAA representatives: Ms. Diane Freiberger – FIBAA Director, Ms. Viktoria Dermanowski – Head of International Procedures, and Ms. Adriane Janosch – Deputy Head of International Procedures. Participants of Van Lang University include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – President, Dr. Nguyen Huu Cuong – Head of the Quality Assurance Department, MSc. Tran Ngoc Hanh – Deputy Head of the Quality Assurance Department, and over 120 other participants who are members of the Self-Assessment Council of 03 programs and officers, lecturers, and support staff members of VLU faculties, departments, units and centers.

During the two-day workshop, FIBAA experts introduced 04 main topics including: (1) FIBAA accrediting organization; (2) General information on FIBAA Program Accreditation procedure; (3) FIBAA Assessment guide, analysis of the accreditation standards, how to write a report and submit the self-assessment report; (4) On-site visit and topics of interviews with each target group.

The workshop helped the managerial staff, teachers, and support staff of Van Lang University understand more about FIBAA standards and procedure for program accreditation. This will be important preparation for VLU to conduct self-assessment, write a self-assessment reports and organise evidence to register and apply for FIBAA accreditation.
