To advance expertise and skills in technology, particularly in next-generation simulation software, the Institute for Computational Science & Artificial Intelligence (COSARI) organized a “Train the Trainer” program in collaboration with PCB GraphTech Vietnam from August 28 to 30, 2024. This initiative provided completion certificates for the Altair SimSolid structural analysis software to staff, faculty, and employees of the Van Lang Education Group (VLG).

Mr. Vo Lam Minh Triet, an instructor from PCB GraphTech Vietnam, highlighted that this is a state-of-the-art structural analysis software part of the HyperWorks suite, which allows engineers and analysts to evaluate complex designs efficiently and accurately.

Key features and benefits of SimSolid include:

  • Speed and Efficiency: Rapid analysis without the need for meshing or simplifying geometry, significantly reducing preprocessing time and accelerating the design evaluation process.
  • Accuracy: Provides precise results, making it a reliable tool for engineers looking to optimize designs and make informed decisions.
  • Geometry Handling: Directly imports CAD models, eliminating the need to simplify or clean up geometry, saving time while preserving the integrity of the original design.
  • Assembly Analysis: Easily handles large assemblies and complex structures, allowing engineers to analyze entire systems rather than individual components.
  • Optimization: Quickly evaluates multiple design variations, helping engineers identify the most efficient design.
  • User-Friendly Interface: An intuitive user interface and smooth workflow make it accessible for both experienced analysts and designers who want to integrate simulation into their design processes.
  • Integration with Popular CAD Software and Other Simulation Tools: Facilitates a seamless transition from design to analysis.

Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Get acquainted with the Altair SimSolid workspace, learn to import models, establish manual and automatic connections, classify different types of constraints, and set boundary conditions for each case study.
  • Grasp the procedures and practice simulations for linear problems, nonlinear problems, and perform analysis of natural frequency, calculating and evaluating the dynamic characteristics of structures with Altair SimSolid.
  • Engage with multiple design studies in Altair SimSolid, mastering the processes and practicing Dynamic, Thermal, and Fatigue analysis tasks.

To complete the program and assess learning effectiveness, participants must take two exams: One online exam on the Altair Engineering system and another online exam on the PCB GraphTech Vietnam system within a 90-minute timeframe.
