The Trade Union of Van Lang University organizes the “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2023” program for the children of staff and faculty members

On September 23, 2023, the Trade Union of Van Lang University (VLU) organized the “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2023” program for more than 300 children of the VLU’s staff and faculty members. This is the most spectacular Mid-Autumn Festival ever organized by the Executive Committee of VLU’s Trade Union. The program featured many exciting activities such as folk games, musical performances, and dragon and lion dances.

“Happy Mid-Autumn Festival” is a meaningful event with a warm and joyful atmosphere organized by the VLU’s Trade Union, aimed at catering to the mental health of the staff and faculty members' children. On the evening of September 23, 2023, VLU’s Trade Union held an event on the theme “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2023” for over 300 children of the university’s staff and faculty members to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with all children across the country. This stands out as the most remarkable Mid-Autumn Festival ever organized by the Union.

During her opening speech, MSc. Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of VLU’s Trade Union, said: “The Happy Mid-Autumn 2023 program by VLU's Trade Union is one of the most spectacular Mid-Autumn activities in recent years, making a wholesome and educational playground for the staff and faculty’s children, with lots of exciting activities. Especially, folk games helps children connect and make new friends, creating beautiful childhood memories. On behalf of the Trade Union of Van Lang University, I wish you good health, success in studies, and to be the pride of your family.”

vui tet trung thu 2023 (13).jpg — Many parents and children express their interest in the folding coconut leaves booths - a typical folk art in the Mekong River Delta, providing knowledge to the children and making the parents feel nostalgic about their childhood.

At the event, the children joined in experiential game booths such as: balloon twisting, to he making, pinwheel making, making locusts from coconut leaves, coloring statues, and decorating the Earth God under the guidance of lecturers and skilled artisans. Additionally, the children and parents were able to participate in folk games of Vietnamese culture during Mid-Autumn Festivals like Mandarin square capturing, bean picking, can throwing, hoop-la, and blindfolded pig smashing, leaving lasting beautiful memories.

vui tet trung thu 2023 (28).jpg — The children fully enjoyed the lively musical atmosphere, with performances by young singers like Gia Cat (Singer–Actor of 5B Theater), young singer Thao Nhi, and Dou Bao Ngoc – Bao Nhu (The Champions of Kid’s Talent 2023).

The program has had a lot of playful musical performances and fun quizzes with surprising presents that were attractive to many youngsters. Furthermore, at the event, the Organization Board gave each attending family a gift. Particularly, the lion dancing performance closed the program with bustling and merry feelings in everyone’s hearts.
