In the lively atmosphere of December, Van Lang University organized various career-oriented activities, providing valuable and new experiences to high school students.
With the enthusiastic support of lecturers and students of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Design, students of Hung Vuong High School (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) had the opportunity to explore career information and eagerly engage in the specialized workshop on Collage Arts: "Christmas Cards." Collage Arts is a form of handmade art, created by two cubist artists, Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. In the Collage Arts technique, artists will combine different photos, materials and personal styles to create a complete work of art.
From readily available materials such as cardboard, colored pens, glue, and ribbons, along with ingenuity and limitless ideas, Hung Vuong students showcased their talent by creating many impressive handmade cards, conveying meaningful wishes for a peaceful Christmas season.

The students were divided into 4 groups, interacting and absorbing career information at Van Lang University.

Essential tools such as tape, ribbons, cardboard, colored pens, and glue were fully provided by the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design.

A group of students are consulting ideas from the Internet before embarking on their work.

“I myself cannot accomplish much, but together we can complete the painting!”

After shaping the work, the young artists began to draw the initial lines on the cardboard…

…Then use glue to secure the decorative items.

Combining with small contrasting colored paper pieces, cleverly using glue, then creative and wonderful small cards gradually took shape.

With careful sketching and collaging, the students created numerous interesting shapes such as a snowman with a funny long Pinocchio-like nose…

…Or a Christmas tree with tiny ornaments.

Finding Collage Arts challenging? Fear not, as the Van Lang University team always actively supports you in every stage.

For every difficulty, there are those who take care of it!

The final stages are gradually completed.

The students collectively "flex" the unique handmade cards after more than 2 hours of "artistic labor".

At the end of the workshop, in addition to the lovely self-made cards as gifts, the students also had many cherished memories alongside Van Lang University lecturers and students. Hopefully, these engaging activities organized by Van Lang University will help the students further strengthen the career orientation they want to pursue in the future, as well as develop creative thinking in both academic and personal life.
