On December 13, 2024, the Faculty of Law at Van Lang University signed an MOU with the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police to advance the dissemination and education of legal knowledge through mock trials. This partnership opens numerous opportunities for students to enhance their professional skills while strengthening legal education and outreach effectiveness.
During the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Van Lang University, emphasized: “With the mission of spreading positive impacts to the community, Van Lang University is committed to ensuring the success of the proposed activities to effectively disseminate legal knowledge and bring the highest value to society and the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police.”
Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Hieu, Deputy Head of the Political Affairs Department, highlighted the benefits of conducting future mock trials. Based on real and timely legal cases, these trials offer students practical experiences and valuable lessons, helping to communicate legal principles effectively and ensure public safety and security.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Faculty of Law at Van Lang University and the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police will co-organize mock trials focusing on legal issues in civil, criminal, administrative, and labor law. The collaboration includes selecting and developing scripts based on adjudicated cases, assigning roles, and conducting training activities.
The signing ceremony marks a significant milestone in enhancing legal awareness and establishing a strong foundation for legal education. This initiative aims to nurture young talents and contribute to building a progressive and civilized society.
