On 21/8/2022, the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a volunteer program at Mai Tam - NAZA shelter (Tam Binh ward, Thu Duc city) with the theme "Give Love".

Mai Tam Shelter (No. 23, Street 15, Quarter 1, Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), is currently caring for children infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS in difficult circumstances. Currently, after more than 10 years of operation, the shelter has become a family of more than 80 children with special circumstances, from birth to 22 years old.

Lecturers and students from the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology visited and donated necessities and gave VND 14,000,000 to patients. Teachers and students also treat, care for wounds, and instruct volunteers in professional techniques in health care for patients at the shelter.

Father Vu Quoc Toan - Vinh Son Parish, who is in charge of the work of the shelter, thanked the teachers and students of Van Lang University for their material and spiritual support for the shelter. With the help of philanthropists and sponsors, care and treatment activities for single mothers and orphans living and affected by HIV/AIDS will be improved, helping people stabilize their health and ensure the quality of life.

Ms. Ly Thi Phuong Hoa (MSc.) - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Nursing & Medical Technology of Van Lang University shared: “We hope that this activity not only helps and spreads love to the members of the shelter but is also an opportunity for Van Lang students to have practical experience lessons, empathize, understand and share with patients. In the future, the Faculty will continue to offer more opportunities for students to organize meaningful volunteer programs, spreading care to the community.”
